Applied Mathematics

 
 

The Department of Mathematics started in the year 2009, which functions with excellence as its motto.  Department provides an encouraging environment to develop the intellectual capacity, critical thinking, creativity and problem solving ability of its students. Also department is committed to serve the needs of various engineering branches by imparting fundamental knowledge of mathematics along with grooming of basic skills through an effective teaching/learning environment and keen to offer students an academic experience of “thinking, learning and doing.”

Mathematics is the mainstay for all Engineering disciplines. So a lot of attention is given on Mathematics in engineering education. Engineering Mathematics is for the first and second year of engineering curriculum. The department ensure that students participate and develop themselves through different platforms e.g. Science Club, Mathematics Forum etc.

Staff members are actively involved in R&D work and have research publications and copyrights to their credit. They are also closely associated with students through counseling and guidance for curricular, extracurricular activities etc.

Mathematics department create vibrant atmosphere that breeds front Engineers, academicians and runner innovators and provide opportunity for students to learn from wherever, however and whatever they chose to study. Propel students to greater heights of excellence in their pursuits.

Mission

The department of Mathematics is for higher learning in Science, Technology and related fields to aspire and to make students understand the miracle and strength in their respective fields by providing application oriented teaching in Mathematics and also morally. The main focus is on promoting the scientific applications and knowledge in such a manner that the students and faculty shall contribute effectively, intellectually and ethically to the scientific community of the world.

Special Achievement

  • Our student Ms. Kimaya Gawande scoring 100/100 marks in Applied Mathematics-I, RTMNU Exam. Winter-2013.
    • In 2016, one of the faculties Prof. Ranjit Dhunde published two papers in referred Journal indexed by Scopus and MathSciNet.
    • Our faculty Prof. Janhavi Sontakke got Best Employee award in MGI for the year 2012-2013.
